About UsMonzu and Hannah Design was started in 2008 in Barcelona, Spain, and moved to Vancouver in 2011. We have been collaborating with a diversity of local and international studios including AA Robins Architect and QoWood. As of 2013 we have been focusing on local projects, in Vancouver's West Side and the North Shore.
We strongly believe that design should be a necessity not a luxury. No matter how small or large, each projects is approached with great care and attention to detail, in order to create beautiful and functional spaces for each of our clients to enjoy. |
Who We Are |
Andres Monzu Merchan, graduated from "Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura" in Madrid with a Master in Architecture, Urban Design and Engineering. After a collaboration with architects such as Joaquin Sicilia and Lluis Clotet, he joined Oscar Tusquets Blanca Architecture in Barcelona, Spain. He became an associate of the firm and for more than 20 years was in charge of design development, construction management and was a team leader for several large scale institutional and high end residential buildings.
In 2004 he opened his own studio in collaboration with Pep Palain and later Fernanda Hannah, moving the practice from Barcelona to Vancouver in 2011. Fernanda Hannah Suarez, was born in Mexico city and raised in Vancouver's West Side. After obtaining a Bachelor of Environmental Design Studies and Master degree of Architecture from Dalhousie University, her interest in design took her to live in cities such as Mexico city, New York, and Barcelona. Her experience comes form working for architects such as Arthur Erikson, Enric Miralles, Peter Gluck and Oscar Tusquets Blanca. As the creative director of this studio, and a design faculty member of La Salle College and visiting adjunct professor of UBC's School of Architecture, Fernanda is an active member of the local design community where she is passionate about practicing and teaching design. |
